Frequently Asked Questions

  • Yes! It is important for you to find a therapist that you believe to be the right fit for you. We offer a free 15-minute phone consultation to help you make this decision, and to give you an opportunity to ask any questions you may have. This also gives your therapist the chance to get to know you and understand what may be bringing you to seeking therapy at this time.

  • Each session is between 50-55 minutes in length. It is important to show up on time for your session, as additional time will not be granted for session time that is missed.

  • There is no “one-size-fits all” when it comes to determining the length of treatment. There may be unexpected set backs, and that is a natural part of the therapeutic process. The number of sessions are determined by the goals and intentions that we set for our work together, and what kinds of skills we may need to develop along the way.

  • Most benefit packages do cover services provided by a “Registered Psychotherapist.” Please check with your insurance provider to determine the details regarding the amount of coverage that you have per calendar year. Humanistic Health Psychotherapy does not directly bill insurance providers, but we will provide you will with the documentation to be reimbursed via invoice and receipt.

  • After each session, you will be sent an invoice via e-mail, stating your balance. Payment can be made via e-transfer to humanistichealthpsychotherapy@gmail.com. You can also upload your payment information to your client portal and your therapist will automatically charge you after each session. Once payment has been made, you will receive a receipt to show proof and confirmation of payment.

  • Clients are able to cancel or reschedule their appointments with 24-hours notice. If you cancel your session with less than 24 hours notice, you will be charged up to the full session fee. We appreciate your understanding!
